American Car Show sucked as much as previous
years. There were couple of nice V8-cars, few
Volkswagens and lots of stuff that doesn't belong to a
car show.
Henry Forsgren's good looking Super Stocker was
the only Volkswagen in the show area. Cars from club
displays aren't allowed to compete in show, clubs
compete in club area decoration.
West Coast Aircoolers had (as
always..) better club display of the two VW clubs in the
show. Wonder when other local clubs like Luftsick or
Arabia Slugs would participate in the show as a club..
Rock 'n' Roll Pauli and Jyrki
Laune brought their Old School Lookers to the show.
Club showed their message
towards so called Gal-Lookers. ("California
Lookers" whose owners doesn't know jack shit what
the term means or how it is spelled. Just check your
latest copy of
Keltainen
Pörssi)
Hmm.. Vintage Porsche is always a nice sight..
Mika Särkelä from Arabia Slugs showed
his Oval racer with new livery and 16" Fuchs.
The car is so beautiful, you cannot go wrong with blue
Beetle :-)
Another Oval Historic Racer was Jussi Jyränkö's car. This car was
the fastest road going Volkswagen in Finland couple of
years ago with 10 second ET's and 1600cc turbo engine!
These suckers aren't VW related but you just have
to dig the Fuckin' Hippies tour bus if you're seriously
into ugly Type II Volkswagens.
The Honda Monkey contest had
some really wild results. Check out that chopper in the
middle! The Indian look a like on the right had ape's
face painted in the tank just like the Indian Chief in
the real thing.
