American Car
Show isn't what it used to be. Ever since they moved from the old Icehall to Fair Center show somehow lost it's
character, the first couple of years at Fair Center were OK but in the late 90's the show has been a far cry what
it used to be.
Since some helicopter (Yes, that's right. Helicopter in a car show.. What else?) couldn't fit through the
doors of Fair Center, WCA was given prime spot in the middle of the hall. Pasi Paavola's '60 Tatra 603 and Pauli
Hallanoro's 65 Type II were on the show this time.

Pasi Paavola found this '60 Tatra from Czech Republic late last year
and he drove the car all the way to Finland. There are total of 5 Tatra's registered in Finland at the
moment and only one similar 603 model located in Turku which is restored.
Pasi's Tatra was slammed during the week before the show by cutting the coil springs. Luckily the bolt pattern
is the same as in pre '67 Volkswagens, so there is plenty of possibilities for nice set of wheels.

Pauli's '65 Transporter has been around some two years now, still looking fresh.
The ex-Vuojolahti Oval belonging now to
Bugpaja's Jussi Jyränkö, about the 3rd time.. Berms were
swapped to 356-style wheels, 2.3 Type I engine was dumped in favour of 2.4 Type IV with Porsche style cooling,
US spec bumpers have been fitted etc. I personally liked car more one year ago..

The other BUGPAJA entry was this Beetle Cup racer.
Oval roof section and dashboard on a middle 60's car, interior and door handles give some clues about origins.

Even though I am a Volkswagen enthusiast, this '59 Alfa Romeo Spider kicks ass.
If you're into Lookers you just cannot un-dig Street Rods, especially this cool. Coke-bottle shaped Vettes were
my teenage dream..
