VW Euro
Biddinghuizen, Netherlands

West Coast Aircoolers did the annual European Tour to VW Euro like last year. Sebastian Vuorisalo emailed me these photos and some notes, included are also some shots from DAS member Kobus.

The Tour sticker is one of the rituals. On the way to VW Neuro WCA crew got lost near Rostock and neighborhood started looked like a movie from cold war era.. German gasoline stations and their sortiments never cease to provide amusement, this time it was in the form of a suction cup Elvis (wonder will Sumo receive this item in WCA Swap next weekend..), yeah the dash mounted bud vases are definetely out for next season.

I have heard urban legends about certain Old School enthusiast having photo of this car in his wallet?

Kai's Barndoor has now personalized license plates, "EMP-1", as cool as it is possible to get in Finland. We have a policy of having 1-3 alphabets and 1-3 numbers in the license plate.

WCA dudes' competitor from Belgium :-) Since the event is in Netherlands in Fall, it rains and it turns into woodstock after couple of hours of people walking in the mud.

Is this negative camber or what? The local buggy scene is something at least I have hard time trying to figure out.

Philip Steenackers' gorgeous '65 and nice Notch by the lake.

Swapmeet stuff from the rarer side were these odd looking Solex carburetors and Schrick manifolds. Carbs looked NOS and were priced over 1000 DEM. They seem to have reproduced the good old "Soviet Finland" plate :-)

Swapmeet of VW Euro is one of the best in Europe and you just cannot go over there and buy nothing. One of the coincidents of the trip was that Sebastian bought a set of Gas Burners from the same guy that Alhoracing got his a week before from eBay.
