Treasure hunting in Belgian style

Most Volksworld readers have read about Kobus Cantraine. He is one of the most well known European VW/Porsche enthusiasts and a member in DAS. If you need some really rare part for your VW or 356, Kobus is the man. Here are some shots of his last trip to California last summer.

BFY Obsolete Parts

Some shots from BFY Obsolete Parts' show-room, should look familiar if you read Hot VWs.

If you buy a lot of nice stuff (like BRMs, Ansens, 356A brakes, pop-outs, NOS sheetmetal), you need a crate, if you need really handy crate that can move on it's own, buy a Type II. Like in this case fine, probably rust-free, California car..

Cruise night at Bravo Burger

A small cruise night at Bravo Burger in Huntington Beach, hosted by the Uberalles VW Club. On the left is a photo of Karmann Ghia owners heaven (or hell). That stack of Ghias is quite impressive.

FAT Performance

Picture of the FAT Performance building and a pretty sick Looker built by Jair Valle who used to work for FAT. Kobus mentioned that Jair can build bitching engine combinations.. hmm..

DAS Triple Burn-out

Three really beautiful Der Autobahn Scrapers cars, from left to right; '57 of Freddy, '62 of Twins (which still remains stolen) and '67 of Xavier.

Freddy's Notch

A photo of Frederic Peeters latest acqusition (1500S Nothcback which he found from museum in France, museum quality is the best base for a project car, assuming that the restoration job is done properly or the car is untampered low mileager) and a tour photo of two (Freddy and Kobus) sleepy Belgians.
