Jussi Jyränkö from BUGPAJA located this '64 Type III for Tomi in Spring of '99. Tomi started the restoration project last Fall and he targeted to finish it for Bug Run of '01, but he ran into some difficulties the night before we were supposed to leave.

Tomi has fitted the accessories from his '63 Beetle to the Notch, those include Sprint Stars and VDM Steering wheel. He had located some Type III accessories as well, like the head light protection nets, locking glove-box handle etc. Shelby style stripes were done by Mika Särkelä of Arabia Slugs.

First event Heeba atteded with the Notch was Beach Party and the Alastaro Drag Races. In Alastaro he had the 3rd fastest air cooled Volkswagen.
