BUGPAJA found this "restored in 80s" Split near Hämeenlinna in late summer of '99. Jussi went to pick the car up on Monday and came with the Split on the trailer to WCA's meeting. While rivals were wondering whether to buy the sucker or not, Tomi "Heeba" Asikainen quietly disappeared to ATM machine and surprised everyone by buying the Split. He fixed the brakes and electrics and used the car for personal transportation occasionally during the autumn and winter.

The car was for sale for a while and as usual no-one around here reacted and then the Split got a new owner from France. Same story like with the '57 Cabrio below, also the new owner of this car flew to Helsinki and drove the car to Paris in March. That means some 600 kilometres of nasty weather all the way through Sweden etc.
