Part II
Hmm..
I am going to lower the rear a bit, once I found my Sway-a-way springplates bought some years ago by now. That nose-down-stance is great for looks, but I am driving my cars as much as possible and can appreciate the improved handling that negative camber brings in. The nose has droppen a bit from these pictures which were taken on the 3rd day I was driving it. Even though it is "only a '64 Beetle Sedan" I am quite happy with the clean looks and the fact that everything works. I had bit of a problem with it beeing the '64 year model, with those ugly huge indicators and wider licenseplate light. In the end play square windows don't get much better than this one, welded only at one place where the heater channel was bent on top of the jacking posts.
Fitting those Autometers is piece of snake with original EMPI panels :-) That "amis" gauge panel will disappear once I get later model speedo with built-in gas level gauge and be able to fit the oil temp and pressure gauges to the place of the original gas gauge. Besides the font in the 70's speedo is closer to Autometers than the original one. Only interior accessories are EMPI steering wheel, GB shifter with custom handle, bamboo parcel tray and Kamei rear parcel shelf (that one cuts also the noise a bit).
Some changes under the decklid too.. Just my "good old" stroker engine.
During these two weeks the gearbox became louder..
I decided to sell the car in September 2002 to Mr Antti Heimberg in order to finance new challenges in the future..
