Kustom Oval
Owner: Pasi Paavola, Luftsick

Fellow Luftsick and KuplaKopla garage member Pasi Paavola finished building this '56 Kustom Oval couple of years ago among his many other project cars.

Pasi is one of the most productive and innovative guys I've met in this hobby. His collection of cars include Volkswagens like '51 Split Window, '65 Beetle with sunroof, '56 Type II project, Kastenwagen with sunroof, East-European cars like Tatra 601 and Skoda Station Wagon and American cars like early 50's Hudson, early 60's Oldsmobile, couple of Dodge Monacos and Dodge Aspen for winter use..

Bit hazy photo from Helsinki Cruise Night. Car is chopped very delicately, most people won't even notice that, quarter windows and matching pop-outs are from Volvo PV, tail-lights are from '60 Chevrolet.

One of the nicest custom touches is the rear bumper that is hanged with tailpipes, it also opens from the middle making way for engine lid. Car wasn't original sunroof, but fitting a sunroof is almost a routine for Pasi, I have lost count of how many sunroof conversions he has done to friend's rides besides three of his own Volkswagens.

Pasi won Custom trophy in 2005 Bug Run, being second Luftsick car to get an award in Bug Run, Jyrki Laune won the Cal Look class couple of years ago.
